Philosophy of Ministry

Mission
Our mission is to know Christ and make Him known.

Vision
Our vision is to build a healthy, vibrant, relevant youth group where the people have passion for God and love for others. The youth are equipped to reach their lost friends, to care for other believers, and are able to multiply themselves into other healthy youth ministries.

Values
We value THE BIBLE as the basis of all we do and the power to transform people (2Timothy 3:16)
We value CHRIST as the model for life and ministry (1 John 2:6)
We value FULL DEVOTION to Christ and His cause as normative for every believer (Philippians 3:10)
We value GRACE as the means for the Christian life and the motivator for people (Titus 2:11-14)
We value PRAYER as the source of power for life and ministry (James 5:13-18)
We value CHARACTER as foundational for ministry (1Timothy 3:1-13)
We value LOVING AUTHENTIC RELATIONSHIPS as permeating our ministry (John 13:34,35)
We value EXCELENCE as a means to glorify God (Col. 3:23)
We value PEOPLE above programs (1Thess. 2:8)
We value CULTURAL RELEVANCE for the clear communication of the message (1Cor. 9:19-23)
We value MODELING as the means to show the message (1Cor. 11:1)
We value UNITY as the distinctive mark of the followers of Christ (John 17:21)

Strategy
Evangelize the lost: the target is the crowd (Matt. 9:36-38; 15:24; 2Tim. 4:5; 1Cor. 9:19-23)
Edify the believers: the target is the congregation (Col. 2:7; Acts 11: 25-27)
Equip the laborers: the target is the worker (Eph. 4:11-12; Mark 9:30)
Educate the leaders: the target is the core (Jr. 3:15; Titus 1:5-9; Luke 6:12-14)

Objectives
The objectives are the specific elements into which each task breaks down. They help the minister see the components to be attained under each task.

Evangelize the lost

  • Build bridges with the lost (John. 4:6-9; Matt. 9:10-13)
  • Model Christ before their eyes (1Thess. 1:5; 2Cor. 2:15,16)
  • Share the message of the gospel with them (John. 4:13-26; Acts 17:30, 31)
  • Invite them to a personal decision (2Cor. 5:20; Acts 16:31)

Edify the believers

  • The priority of Prayer (Luke 5:16; Acts 1:4; John 6:15)
  • The priority of Worship (John 5:16-19; 15:5)
  • The priority of the Word (Matt. 5:17-19; Heb. 4:12; Acts 6:4)
  • The priority of Intentional Loving Relationships (John 3:22; Acts 2:42; James 5:16)

Equip the workers

  • Gifts development: help them discover their gifts and offer opportunities to exercise them (Eph 4:7, 11, 12, 16; 1 Pt. 4:10-11)
  • Ministry preparation (Acts 20:7; 1Cor. 14:19; Eph 4:12)

Educate the leaders

  • To know: doctrine and academic teaching (John 17:8)
  • To be: character formation (John 17:17)
  • To do: ministry skills development (John 17:20)
